As a business owner, and as the Mayor, I have pushed hard for years to make sure we are an easy place
to do business with. And because of a majority of Council support in that regard, we get new businesses all the time.
Some
people talk about how Irmo needs to be more collaborative with other groups, i.e. Chamber etc. But I think the results
below are proof-positive that I have a GREAT RELATIONSHIP with commercial realtors, developers, the Irmo Chamber, and business
owners. Also with future business owners who contact Irmo or myself as the Mayor to talk about doing business in
this Town at a later date.
I was contacted
two-three years ago by a commercial real estate agent about the new Honda and the Warehouse Distribution on Western Lane.
They are here today because of that relationship, a collaboration that I made years ago. I have earned their trust to keep
things silent and the respect from those commercial real estate agents, that what I say, I do. I let them make their
announcement when they are ready. Trust builds relationships.
